Update: More Redesigning
So it’s hardly been a week since I announced the last redesign. But, I wasn’t completely satisfied with it. So I bring you the newly new redesigned scribblesandwords.com.
After all, part of what blogging is all about is finding out what works, chucking what doesn’t and smoothening the sharp edges.
Here’s what I did:
- Completely new Header along with a new link structure across the top of the page.
- Some new static pages: Hire Me (blog posts, blog static pages, etc.), Advertise (125×125 ads) and Recommended Freelancing Resources (products or services I have personally used and abused and find to be indispensable).
- A few new sidebar modules like, “À La Scribbles & Words” which contains links to the books page and the vocabulary page.
No more tampering for a while. I’m happy. Time for content.
What do you think?

Really like your new header! Nice one.

I think “smoothening” isn’t a word, but it should be.
As for your new design, I like it. Its a bit white (hard on the eyes late at night) but the layout seems very straightforward and makes sense.
Keep up the good work!

I hardly noticed the new design.
J/k.. it looks great, man.
Hey did you realize when you said “time for content”, it could mean “time to be happy”?

Thanks Colin, it took me a minute, but once you get going in Photoshop there’s no stopping…except of course when your roommate comes in to tell you your soup has been on the stove for four hours.
@Vitiare - Sure it is.
Yeah it is a bit white for late night surfing…no wonder my eyes were burning when I was done.
@Rudy - Somewhere behind the neurotic need for constant visual changes I did. But you brought it to the forefront.
looks really nice and clean here, did you do it all in photoshop?

The “scribble” really caught my eye. VERY cool. I didn’t see the other layout, but this one is nice. The word that comes to mind is ‘crisp’.
I thought it looked great before, so it is hard to believe that it looks even better. Great work!
@Andy Bailey - Everything except the coolest part, the pen image I got from iStockphoto. From an artist called spotblind, he does some good stuff.
@Sweet Mummy - Crisp like an apple, or like a cold December night? I want the apple. They’re juicy.
@Jenn - Thanks Jenn!
