Design a Book Cover - Win $1000

by Jason Francis Hunter on March 9, 2008

Found Around the WebJonathan Fields is running a contest to have his new book cover be designed by YOU. The book is called, Cash In On Your Passion: How to make a great living doing what you love.

“It’s wildly unorthodox, I know…But that’s not stopping me and my publisher, Broadway Books, a division of Random House, Inc. (“Sponsor”) from reaching out to you guys and everyone we all know online to help us come up with a killer-cover for my upcoming book, Cash In On Your Passion to be published in trade paperback in January 2009.”

Once the covers are submitted, the top 20 will be put up for voting (you can even win prizes for voting). A great way for designers to get their work seen to a huge audience. If you have doubts about doing something like this — maybe you’re looking at it like spec work — then take a look at the comment Jonathan left in the comments section, he’ll quell your worries.

Go check it out.

Update: Didn’t realize this was such a hot topic on the net right now. There’s a huge discussion over at Freelance Switch and Bob Torres is also chiming in at his blog.

Update 2: I guess all the haters got to him. The contest has been discontinued. What a shame.
